Supervision is no longer about seeking answers from an expert. It is about creating a space where client work can be explored, survived, reflected upon, and learned from. This process, within the supervisory relationship, serves as a container nurturing the therapeutic triad of client, counsellor, and supervisor. My supervision expertise is on supporting those who have similar backgrounds to my areas of work, who feel they could benefit from my knowledge and experience. These include those with disabilities or long term conditions, adoptive parents and frontline workers.

I provide formative and restorative supervision to allied health professionals, which can include supporting around compassion and concepts of self-care and well-being, as required under the HCPC updated standards of proficiency.

Supervision fee: £75/90 minutes

Trainee counselling students are welcome to contact me for a reduced rate.

Payment for sessions will be by bank transfer or Paypal - information will be on the invoice. Please make payment at least 24 hours before appointment to confirm the booking.

Changing or cancelling appointment:

Please give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment. Appointments cancelled at short notice or not attended without notice will be liable for the full fee. Please attend at the agreed time, if you are late I will finish at the same time due to following appointments.

What if I work shifts or my/my family members' health condition is variable?

Many of my clients fit into this pattern so please raise this with me so we can come to an agreement for the best way to work.

What if I want to end my counselling sessions?

You are not required to commit to a minimum number of sessions. Therapy sessions are on a week-by-week appointment basis, you can stop any time. I would encourage you to discuss if sessions are becoming uncomfortable and if this is something to explore as part of the therapeutic process.

Research, Quality Improvement & Project Development

Since 2007 I have been involved in health project development work, involving 'service users' for the third sector (nutrition and exercise). Following this I undertook research for VisionSense (subcontracting for the NHS and County Councils) in the areas of mental health. I presented at the INVOLVE (now NIHR) conference - see below Faulkner (2010).

I continued to do small projects identifying gaps for the Deaf Community locally, whilst training up in gaps in my own knowledge. I worked as a Practice Development Lead within a Specialist Tertiary Mental Health Service during the pandemic, and moved onto a PhD incorporating co-production and addressing my passion of mental and physical health combined.

If you would like to discuss a bespoke project, please contact me.
